Why is meditation so difficult?

By Sandra - June 2025

We live in an era where the pace of life is increasingly frenetic. Every day we are under pressure: we have to get results right away, always be high-performing, productive, impeccable. Our days are full, planned down to the smallest details, until the evening, when we collapse exhausted in bed... and often we can't even sleep.

Why does this happen?

Because we have stopped listening to ourselves. We no longer feel our body, our thoughts, our emotions. We no longer live in the present moment.

Once upon a time, even for the simplest things, there was a waiting time: thinking about what we wanted, looking for it, waiting to have it. Today everything is immediate. Thanks to (or because of) the Internet, we find everything right away. In fact, it is often the network itself that finds for us what we "should" want, offering us tailor-made advertising.

And so, without realizing it, we have lost the habit of waiting. Of standing still. Of listening.

Meditation, today, scares us for this very reason: because it puts us in front of ourselves. Our emotions, our thoughts, our inner sensations. And then we run away. We tell ourselves that we are too busy, that we don't have time, that it is not the right time.

But that is where the change begins.

In finding the courage to stop. To listen. To accept everything that emerges within us, without judgment. At the beginning it is difficult, of course. But with patience, perseverance and gentleness, we can learn to live in the present again. To recognize ourselves. To breathe.

And one day, almost without realizing it, we will discover how good it is. How essential it is to take time for ourselves, to recharge, to slow down. We will discover our true self. And the authentic beauty of life.

With yoga and meditation, I will accompany you step by step on this wonderful journey towards yourself.

A hug!
